Just a quick reminder that we will be having our 1st Philmont practice hike tomorrow.  Please be at SPX at 745 so we can load gear, get ice and water, and headout by 8am.  If you are going to Philmont please bring gear in a backpack like you would for Philmont.  If you do not have a pack, we will have a few extra tomorrow that can be used for the hike.  Also please bring a compass so we can work on map and compass skills.  Don't forget water bottles!

There will not be a meeting this week as Tuesday is the Feast of the Assumption.  It is back to school week for most.  Popcorn sales begin in earnest this week.  We begin this coming Saturday and Sunday at two locations:  Lowe's at 15th & Yale and Tulsa Hills.  We want four Scouts at each location for every time slot.  Please go to the website and sign up for shifts. Scouts wear full Class A uniforms.  Parents, Adult members of the troop we will need assistance to cover the shifts.  We need at least one adult per shift, Youth Protection Training is not required as these are public locations.  The troop will also be selling at two locations the weekend of August 26th and 27th.  These will be the only weekends the troop is having Show and Sell popcorn.  If you are a Scout that enjoyed Summer camps, Whitewater Rafting, Philmont or any other event this is a great opportunity to help yourself by banking money into your Scout account.  The Semi-Annual planning meeting was held on this past Saturday and a skiing trip is in the mix for Troop 81 later this year.  We are also sending a crew to Philmont in June 2018.  If you have a Cub Scout from Pack 58 in your home as well they can sign up to take part in Show & Sell, please add them to the list as a guest.  If you have any questions please contact Mr. Johnson, Mr. Bierig or Mr. Kissel.  The Troop Court of Honor will take place on Tuesday, August 22nd in Dorney Hall at SPX.  We will begin at 7:00 PM.  Have a great week back at school everyone!
