SUMMER CAMP MERIT BADGE SIGNUP

Signup for Cedar Lake Campout

Posted on May 13 2012 - 6:49am

Just a reminder that we are coming up quickly on one of Troop 81's best campouts!  We will be canoeing, fishing, orienteering and working on rank advancements at Cedar Lake during the Memorial Day weekend.  We currently have 13 Scouts signed up and would like to see all of our first and second year Scouts at this campout.  Login for the website is Username: ****** Password: ****** to be able to sign up.  We had a terrific turnout for our Citizenship in the Nation merit badge course on Friday afternoon with 13 Scouts attending.  I would like to express a "Thank you" to both Ricky and Jennifer Eads for organizing this.  Please remember that Sandy Mellor is offering physical exams for our Scouts during the next two meetings from 6:30 PM to 8:45 PM for a reduced cost of only $15.00.  Please contact Ricky Eads to schedule a time if your Scout needs his physical for Summer Camp, it also works for school.  We are also looking for designs for the next class B troop t-shirt, the deadline for designs is this coming Tuesday night.  Have a great weekend and Scout ON!

SUMMER CAMP PHYSICALS AND FORMS

Posted on May 3 2012 - 10:18pm

We will focus on getting all of our paperwork for Summer Camp in order during May.  That means all Scouts and Leaders attending camp MUST have a current Medical form on record.  Actually, everyone must have a current Medical form on record so even if you are not going to Summer Camp, this is a great time to get up to date.

We have a very busy meeting this week.  First of all, we will be doing final planning for the Campout this coming weekend.  We need to get our final count so Patrol Leaders, call all of your members and be ready.  Next, we have Order of the Arrow Elections this week.  Then, we need to get our final numbers for Summer Camp, start Merit Badge Signup and get payments made.  We need to decide on a Troop T-shirt design, get everyone's sizes and get the shirts on order.  If we get through all of that, we may have time for Game Night.  See you Tuesday.

Wow, spring time is going by really quickly.  It will be time for Summer Camp before you know it!!  Are you signed up on our Website?  We really need to get everyone signed up and start collecting our first payment.  The total fee is $270 and we need to collect $135 right away, with final payments due early June.  This week, we will have Parent's Night for our new parents (and any others interested) to learn about Summer Camp.  We encourage all to attend.  We will answer all your questions as best we can.  We will also start Merit Badge signup for the boys.  Remember, 1st year Campers have a fixed program (Soaring to Eagle, First Aid, Evironmental Science and Canoeing), 2nd year Campers get to pick 2 MB's, 3rd year campers get to pick 3 MB's and 4th year Campers can pick all 4!  Here is a link to see what MB's are offered at Hale this year - http://www.halescoutreservation.org/pdf/2012%20MBs.pdf.  There's lots to do so Be Prepared, come prepared!
